POSTERS


poster_session_09A PRINTING OFFICE WILL WELCOME YOU ON SITE AND WILL GIVE YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRINT YOUR POSTER AT REASONNABLE COST
- 35 € on coated paper
- 50 € on photo paper

The viewable size of the poster board is: vertical 1.10 m and horizontal 0.90 m. The boards are full white. Please use tape (no pins)! Attendees can preview the posters during the morning before the formal presentation.

Authors need to be present at their posters for discussion with attendees during the session. Subsequently, it is each author's responsibility to remove his/her poster immediately at the end of the session. E-MRS assumes no responsibility for posters left up after this time.

 

REGISTRATION

IMPORTANT:

Each attendee (including chairpersons, authors, presenting authors, invited speakers, scientific committee members....) must register online.

For organizational reasons, on-site registration will be limited!

Please register online before MAY 15, 5 pm (EST)
If you do not have an E-MRS account on our website, you need to create one before registering to the Spring Meeting.

Pre-registration is compulsory and pre-payment is recommended to avoid a long queue.

E-MRS is a non-profit organization, no subject to VAT.

NB: Abstract submission is not registration: each author attending the conference must register separately.

On-site registration will be limited!

The following payment options are offered:
- Credit card (Carte Bleue, Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard)
- Cheque (to the order of E-MRS)
- Bank transfer (cf. BANK INFORMATION section)
NB: Purchase order from company are accepted too.

CANCELLATION

In case the E-MRS conference is cancelled, the conference attendees will be entitled to claim the reimbursement of the registration fee. In no case can the Conference Organisers be held liable for the reimbursement of any other cost, such as travel costs, accommodation costs, living expenses etc. Such costs are the exclusive responsibility of Conference attendees.

In order to receive a refund, cancellation requests must be in writing and sent by April 30, which will cause a €25 processing fee. No refunds will be issued on requests postmarked after April 30. In recent years, there has been a move away from long scary disclaimers of liability for acts of God, terrorism, strikes, volcano eruption etc., so these are no longer included.

PLENARY SESSION

Plenary_09A plenary session is scheduled for Wednesday May 29, 2013 - afternoon.


Symposium organizers and E-MRS Graduate Student Award Winners will be honored during the social event on Wed. May 29 at 19:30.

 

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Reaching Strasbourg...

...BY AIR:

The Strasbourg/Entzheim Airport has regular flights to European cities. Direct train connexion from the airport to the Central Railway station, approx. 20 min. Return by train from the same station.
From Frankfurt Airport (Germany) direct Lufthansa buses to Strasbourg or ICE fast train within the airport to Offenburg and than local train to Strasbourg.
From Paris/Roissy Charles de Gaulle: within the airport direct fast trains TGV to Strasbourg (2:25 hours) or Air France flights.
From EuroAirport Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg airport: bus to Basel station or St. Louis station, then train (1:25 hour)
From Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden airport (Baden Airpark): Ryanair shuttle (www.flightliner.de), timed with Ryanair flights, or bus to Baden Baden and then train to Strasbourg via Offenburg.

...BY TRAIN:

Rail Europe allows you to book all types of European rail passes and tickets online. Eurail passes, Euro passes, Single country passes, Point to Point tickets, Rail 'n Drive passes, Night trains, Special trains, High Speed trains, Eurostar, etc. Online train schedules are also available: www.raileurope.com

...BY ROAD:

Highways connected to the French as well as the German networks.
The French freeway network to the west and to the north, consisting of the A4, A34, A31 and A32 freeways, permits easy access of Strasbourg from Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg et Bonn via Metz and Sarrebruck. The south, the axis Strasbourg-Mulhouse and the A36 intersection of the A6 freeway of Beaune, opens routes in direction of Italy and Spain. The German freeway network permits access to Hamburg, Frankfort, Basel, Geneva and Milan and is less than 15 minutes from Strasbourg via Kehl. Keep some change with you as some motorways require toll fees to be paid as you travel.

Parking at the Congress Center

  • Public free parking (500 car spaces)
  • E-MRS Conference Participants parking: when arriving to the public parking, take the small street behind the Hotel Mercure (ex Holiday Inn), close to a traffic light enter on the left side the yard.

TRAVEL WITHIN THE CITY

 

Use the Tram grid. The Relay-Tram Parking Lots (P+R) set up along the tram lines, offer the possibility to park your vehicle close to a tram station and travel downtown without worry of traffic or parking. In return for the price of parking for the day, all occupants of the vehicle receive a ticket permitting a round-trip by tram. For parking solutions www.parcus.com

To get to Palais des Congrès of Strasbourg by tram:

take the tram Line B (towards Hoenheim Gare) or Line E (towards Robertsau) and get off at either the Tram Stop Lycée Kléber, which is within walking distance and just before the Palais des Congrés, or the Tram Stop Wacken, which is just after the Palais des Congrès.

 

VISA ASSISTANCE

Citizen having passports from certain countries need a visa to enter France. If you need any assistance to obtain your visa, please contact us as soon as possible (indicate your address, date and place of birth, your passport number and date of expiration).

Subject: VISA ASSISTANCE

All letters of invitation will be sent by airmail and by PDF e-mail attachment unless a courier account number is provided with the original request. E-MRS is not able to contact Embassies in support of an individual attempting to gain entry to attend the meeting. Because the application for a visa can be a lengthy process, we recommend that you start your visa application process as soon as you have been notified that your paper has been accepted. We also recommend that you secure your travel visa before registering for the symposium.

CONFERENCE RECEPTION

A reception is being arranged for all the conference participants on Wednesday evening May 29 starting at 19:30  All conference attendees are invited to this reception as a chance to meet and renew relationships with colleagues. Music and food will be provided free of charge.

COFFEE BREAKS

Coffee will be served during the morning and afternoon breaks. Please check the individual technical conference listings for exact times.

INTERNET ACCESS / WIFI

internet_access_09A limited number of internet access terminals will allow attendees to access their internet e-mail during the conference. E-MRS is also pleased to provide complimentary wireless access to the internet for all conference attendees bringing their own laptops.

 

 

AUDIOVISUAL PACKAGE

The standard audio-visual package in each symposium room will consist of:
- video projector, screen, laser pointer & microphone
- PC windows XP pro / Microsoft Office pack (including power point), USB plug and CD-Rom
- overhead projector (only on request)
