WARSAW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – Saturday closures
Because of the need to renovate the intersection of the two main runways at Waraw, Frederik Chopin International Airport the Airport will be closed from Friday 23.30 on 10th September until Sunday morning 12th September at 08.00. The same hours of closure will apply from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th September . It should be noted that there are no scheduled arrivals or departures between 23.30 and 05.00, which means that the airport is closed effectively only on Saturday 11th and 18th. There will be a short runway available for small passenger aircraft, but large aircraft will be unable to arrive or depart from Warsaw during the above hours. Despite efforts to find out what it meant by ‘small passenger aircraft’, and whether this includes the aircraft used for domestic routes in Poland and for some short international flights, airport staff were unable to provide any information. It follows that individual travel plans will have to take account of the situation at Warsaw Airport.
The latest situation should be available on the airport website www.lotnisko-chopina.pl
