| Fall 12 A: Advanced composite materials: technologies, properties, applications |
|
Development, design and definition of new applications for ceramic materials and ceramic matrix composites are now very perspective for the modern materials science. The great potential of these materials (their unique combination of properties) and their advantages over monolithic materials attract attention of researchers in the various fields of knowledge. Scope: The proposed conference will cover all areas related to theory and methodology, science, technology, and applications of functional and structural ceramic and ceramic matrix composites which can operate in wide temperature and pressure ranges in the various multifunctional devices. Composite materials have unique advantages over monolithic materials, such as high strength, high stiffness, long fatigue life, low density, and adaptability to the intended function of the structure. Significant achievement has been made in the design/development and applications. Considerable innovative research is still continuing for the development of continuous fiber composites and particulate composites for critical applications. So organizers of this symposium aim at bringing together academicians and researchers in the field of modern materials science. The symposium of such kind will facilitate discussion on the latest trends in the entire gamut of composite materials. To obtain ceramics and ceramic matrix composites it is necessary to solve important fundamental problems concerning evolution of hierarchical structure of materials during technological processing. An important role in the process of material creating plays the simulation of structural and functional properties by designing structure at atomic and molecular levels. All the same, this event aims to acquire the participants with the last interesting scientific programs and projects which are realized not only in the countries of Western Europe but in the countries of Eastern and Central Europe too in order to implement the results, to consider the possibility of new interdisciplinary forms of international cooperation in the field of new perspective unordinary ceramic materials and ceramic matrix composites.
