E-MRS 2011 Fall Meeting - Symposium I

Advances in transparent electronics: from materials to devices III

pdf Symposium I 698.09 Kb

Introduction and scope:

Transparent Electronics have emerged from the advances, on the one hand, of transparent conductive materials with binary, ternary and co-ternary metal oxides been the major contributors (TCOs, ASOs, etc) and Thin Film Transistors (TFTs).

The present symposium complements a highly successful series of symposia in the field, organized over the past few years by E-MRS, and aims to contribute to the present rush of new knowledge and advances in the so called “post-Si electronics era”.

As the world-wide interest on Transparent Electronics appears to be exploiting, there is a need for intense information exchange and debate platforms that will facilitate the rapid advances taking place both on the materials side and device fabrication.

This symposium is organized by a team of international leading experts ranging from materials scientists to electronic engineers with a solid background both on the proposed scientific and technological fields to be addressed and on the organization and know-how experience of major international symposia.

The scope of this symposium is to attract young scientists and engineers interested in the field who would have a first class opportunity to interact with the proposed pool of prominent invited speakers in subjects ranging from materials science to device fabrication and applications.

A particular effort will be made to attract speakers both from the academic and the industrial environments presenting the latest developments on materials advances and device fabrication.

Hot topics to be covered by the symposium:

  • Transparent Conductive Oxides
  • Amorphous Oxide Semiconductors
  • n-type channel materials
  • p-type semiconductor materials
  • Processing / Device fabrication methods
  • Thin Film Transistors
  • Dielectric materials
  • Transparent Electronic Devices (Passive, linear, two-terminal, TTFTs, etc)
